More information
High Notes is a music group which aims
to stimulate very young children ( 5 months - under 5's ) with
live music, encouraging them to react and explore varying rhythms
and melodies. The live aspect provides a totally different experience
for the little ones, some of whom have only ever experienced
music on a CD, DVD, videotape or the television.
The weekly half-hour sessions are a time
for parents and carers to interact with their children musically
whilst having fun. Each child is free to take part in his/her
own way within a structured session during which time they are
learning about the joys of real music.
At a High Notes music session,
there are no tapes. Piano provides
the basic tunes and rhythms while the youngsters and accompanying
adults sing, move about and join in playing different instruments. No
two weeks are exactly the same at High Notes, for example
different props are used depending on the tunes and songs played.
Plus each week an additional real instrument is featured such
as steel drum, flute, recorder
At High Notes the musical repertoire includes
original songs and tunes as well as classical music and popular
themes. The music changes termly although a few songs always
remain in the collection. It is the weekly continuity and repetition
that provides a strong grounding for the youngster's confidence
and so it is preferable for each child to register for a term
at a time (10 - 12 weeks. ) However, it is possible to just register
for half a term. Any missed sessions can be made up at one of
the other venues during the same term - or half term if that
was your booking period.
If you would like to come for 2 trial sessions to experience
the fun , please telephone to book a convenient date.
